Qualified Music Teacher and Professional Musician with close to 10 years of teaching experience, offering cello lessons
My teaching style draws inspiration from many sources, from Suzuki to Kodaly and the Russian Piano Method. Students listen regularly to high-quality recordings and personalised tutorials of the music they’re learning in order to motivate and guide them, a method which benefits older students and adults as well as younger students. Parents are closely involved in lessons and practice with children, which means they can progress successfully at a much younger age. In my experience this gets the quickest and best results, and is a lovely way to spend time and bond with your child while developing a beautiful skill to be proud of. It also means I am happy to start students at a much younger age, usually from 4 and on occasion even from 3. I have completed a BMus in Performance, and also have a teaching qualification.
I’ve performed as soloist and chamber musician in many venues including the Purcell Room, Queen Elizabeth Hall and Royal Albert Hall.
I’m a friendly, enthusiastic teacher with nearly 20 years of experience teaching privately, in schools and at university level. I teach all ages from toddler to adult.
