Award-winning and experienced piano, music theory and composition tutor

I am an experienced piano and music theory/music composition tutor as well as an award-winning composer and pianist, holding one bachelor and two master degrees (with distinction). I firmly believe that piano and music learning should be an enjoyable meaningful musical experience for the student and should satisfy the students needs and goals. So, I try to adapt my lesson planning and methodology according to the student’s needs and goals.

My aim is to provide creative piano lessons that will help my students to play musically and expressively. My intention is to teach my students how they should practice, as well as help them develop their self-criticism and an holistic and interdisciplinary understanding of music. I embarked my music studies at the National Conservatory of Athens studying Music Theory – Harmony with Dionisis Kalogeropoulos as well as piano performance with Rena Beka. In 2013 I was awarded the professional diploma as piano soloist with excellence and the second Award for Outstanding Performance. I hold a bachelor degree in Applied Music Studies from the Department of Music Art and Science at the University of Macedonia (2011 – 2015) . I continued my studies in the music department of Ionian University where I studied Composition for Film, Theatre and Performing Arts in a postgraduate level (2015-2017).

I have also completed with distinction a postgraduate degree in Music Composition in the Royal Holloway University of London (2016 – 2017) under the supervision of Mark Bowden. I have attended composition classes with Lina Tonia and jazz piano classes with Stauros Lantsias and Grigoris Simadopoulos.

I have also attended many Composition workshops and seminars presented by Edmund Finnis, Marco Stroppa, Jonathan Cole, Vasco Hexel, Errollyn Wallen, Michael Finnissy, Orlando Garcia, Aaron Holloway and Harry Gregson Williams among others In October 2011, I received the Second Prize for my piece “As much as you can” for choir in the national composition competition organized by North College of Greece. In July 2016 I have been selected to participate in the final round of the International Composition Competition “Antonin Dvorzac” held in Prague ( in July 2016).

I have also been selected between the 12 finalists composers, among 154 participants, in the final round of the International Animated Film Music Competition organized by Megaron – Athens Concert Hall. My music for the animation “The leaf of the Poplar” by Eirini Vianelli was projected in the Concert Hall of Megaron Moysikis of Athens on May 17th 2017.
